Waterjet Cutting

Cost-effective - Cold Cutting - Precise - Clean

Water jetting uses an extremely high-pressure stream of water to cut 3-dimensional designs out of virtually any material you can imagine—but it is particularly good on soft metals like aluminum and copper metals, as well as temperature-sensitive materials.

With 60,000 psi of water pressure and injected garnet abrasive, our Flow Mach 200 waterjet machine can cut parts to engineered specs and even sand surfaces.  Since water jets use high pressure rather than heat, application is ideal for heat-sensitive and pre-annealed materials, allowing metals to retain their inherent properties without heat damage.  The result is solid parts that you can count on every time.

Our Flow Mach 200 waterjet machine is fully loaded with the largest cutting envelope (60” x 120”) and the only 5-axis Pivot+ head in the tri-state area. This robust, multi-axis cutting solution uses computer-controlled tilt (up to 60 degrees) to automatically adjust while cutting so that taper is nearly eliminated in the finished part.  This reduces post-machining operations, as waterjet-cut part edges are perpendicular to within a few thousandths of an inch.

The combination of this versatile machine and our diligent and innovative operators  allow us to cut incredibly accurate designs out of a wide range of materials, sizes, and thicknesses.

Benefits of Waterjet Cutting

  • One of the most cost effective cutting options

  • Shapes can be nested tightly for optimal material utilization

  • Cold cutting means no heat affected zones that come with laser, plasma, or torch cutting

  • Doesn’t add any stress to the material

  • Leaves a satin smooth finish which reduces secondary operations

  • Cutting process is clean

  • Narrow kerf (0.020″) removes only a small amount of material.

  • Switching between high production, and single piece production is very easy.

  • Thin sheets can be stacked for higher production

  • Can be programmed using 5 different cut qualities (100% travel speed being the fastest and cheapest, down to 20% travel speed for maximum quality and precision)
